The year 1970 is generally considered to be the start of French public policies in education, and not without reason : the CERI-OECD Sèvres seminar was organized. An official  mission informatique was created  at the Ministry of Education, And a national experimentation was annouced in a ministerial  circular regarding  high schools  and ncluding long-term teacher training.

As always, we can find precursory elements, the trick is to know what we consider a precursor.

In this case, it's important to go back to the recognition of computer science in French universities and the CNRS in the 1960s, and to take into account the launch of the Plan Calcul in 1966. We should also mention the initiatives taken in IUTs and technological education.

In any case, a great deal was happening in 1970, with far-reaching repercussions.
